Port Clinton Marina and Snag-A-Slip did not communicate well. A friend that we were meeting there learned that the marina was unaware of our impending visit. We called the manager and he straightened it out quickly, but it was upsetting to make a reservation days in advance and not have the marina know about it. This is a laid-back place, unused to transients. They do not monitor a radio so we called on the phone to alert them of our arrival. We were able to tie up without anyone to direct us to our slip or to catch lines, despite considerable current at the dock, which projects well into the river. For the cost of an overnight slip we would hope for better service.

We are sorry to read that this customer was disappointed with their stay. Snag-A-Slip does notify us promptly of all reservations, and our marina team did have this reservation on the books. The customer did call into our marina office just as they were preparing to dock, and unfortunately our manager wasn’t able to meet them out on the dock on arrival. We have followed up with the guest directly regarding their stay. We look forward to welcoming this vessel back to our dock again in 2021 so that we can deliver the great experience that all boaters deserve.
